Our CEO, Tony Gilbertson, recently visited Watts Commercial Finance in Nantwich to set out what Signature’s recent securitisation deal with Santander means in practice for the brokerage and its clients.

Joining Tony were Rhodri O’Reilly, Signature’s in-house legal counsel, who deals with the Watts team regularly and George Lowry, one of our Client Relationship Executives, who will be an increasingly important point of contact as the deal volume increases.

Hosted over an informal office lunch, the session focused on real-world benefits for introducers. In short, the securitisation gives Signature deeper, more flexible funding, which we’re already using to lower rates and increase capacity.

For Watts, that translates into greater certainty of funds and the confidence to progress more projects for clients this year, across the full range of products, from light refurbishment loans and residential bridging to revolving credit facilities and ground-up development finance.

We also explained the benefits to Watts and their clients of our new DeskVal service, an AVM designed to deliver fast, accurate and consistent desktop valuations, helping to streamline early decision-making and improve the borrower experience.

Tony also fielded questions on pipeline appetite, legal workflow and speed to completion, highlighting how the structure supports consistent decision-making and quicker drawdowns where cases are packaged well.

Rhodri shared practical pointers to keep transactions moving whilst trying to iron out issues presented when the client’s legal advisers are slow to respond. George confirmed he’ll be the day-to-day contact for the Watts team, helping maintain a consistent flow of communication between the two teams.
