About the role

You will work in a lending administration role, working directly with the CEO of the company with credit and lending administration matters, to provide outstanding customer service at all times.

You will support the CEO in managing existing working relationships with customers and brokers alike from the application stage through to loan redemption and be committed to providing excellent customer service throughout.

You will require a high level of attention to detail where you will support assess lending proposals using strong credit assessment skills. You will ideally have experience within the corporate/commercial banking background where you will have exposure to the management of a portfolio of SME clients, although you will not necessarily have managed a portfolio yourself.

You will form part of our wider team of staff to help deliver service standards across the company, and we expect all of our staff to assist in the nurturing and development of our younger staff and to ensure that our joined-up approach to providing outstanding customer service standards is consistent across the company.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Analysing and interpreting key information such as financial accounts, property valuations and business appraisals to assist in the lending decisions.
  • Delivering high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in data input and all written communication produced.
  • Helping to build, maintain and develop successful working relationships with external contacts such as brokers, customers, surveyors and solicitors as well as internal teams such as administrators, credit risk and finance.
  • Assisting the CEO in the management of a very large pipeline of cases from application stage through to loan redemption, ensuring both company service standards and the lending policy are complied with throughout.
  • Ensuring that all regulatory requirements are adhered to throughout the process and in all contact with customers, brokers and third parties.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current regulatory environment, product range and policies across the short-term lending market to effectively promote Signature’s competitive edge/USPs to all partners.
  • Dealing with all lending enquiries efficiently and within company standards.
  • Communicating information to relevant teams in a clear manner.
  • Holding a good understanding of all the company’s policies, procedures and compliance guidelines, instilling the principles in your daily practice to protect the company from any associated risks.
  • Evaluating the accuracy and authenticity of each client’s details.
  • Creating detailed records on each case via our case management system.
  • Maintaining up-to-date data knowledge of fraud prevention.
  • Helping develop sales business by building profitable, long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with key strategic partners and contacts within target markets.
  • To be committed to the Company’s desire to provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Liaising regularly with internal and external departments, such as: processing, credit/underwriting and solicitors, to monitor service standards (SLA’s) and deal quality.
  • Attending external events such as roadshows, roundtables and networking events, and deliver presentations to large audiences, where appropriate.
  • Highlighting ideas for innovation and improvement.

 

Skills and experiences

  • Underwriting experience desirable, but not essential.
  • Corporate/Commercial Banking background.
  • Experience of Relationship Management.
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work both independently and/or collaboratively.
  • Effective communication: written and verbal.
  • Results driven.
  • Have sound business judgement.
  • Deliver high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in data input and all written communication produced.
  • Demonstrate good time management when dealing with a high volume of pipeline cases.
  • Be a Brand Ambassador and embrace company values at all times.
